Reasons to Create a Vision Board

1. Understanding -Vision Boards can also help you understand what you really want in your life because they require you to focus on your dreams. Vision boards can be any shape or size. It can also be physical or digital, as well as private or public. Keep in mind that your vision board is personal and does not require the opinion of others. If you are struggling in any area of your vision board, then seek the help of a friend or professional who can help you gain clarification.

2. Motivation - The purpose of a vision board is to help motivate you to accomplish your life’s goals and see your dreams come true. You may be more motivated to accomplish your goals when they are visually appealing to you. Vision boards are meant to be posted on a wall or in an area that you frequent daily. Consider posting several copies of your vision board in your home and even at work.

3. Expectation -Vision Boards prompt you to analyze what you want for your life by focusing on your dreams. Then you will need to create small action steps that will get you closer to achieving your goals and dreams. This will require you to be absolutely honest with yourself and maintain realistic expectations.

4. Reminders - If you post your vision board in a common area it will serve as a daily reminder of what actions you should take. Daily reminders can give you the inspiration to move forward during difficult times.

5. Inspiration - Creating your vision board can be a fun and creative outlet that can reduce stress. There is no need to organize or map out your vision board and it can include images, poems, scripture, and even stickers. Use whatever supplies or elements you deem fit for the size and shape of your vision board.

Your vision board will work if you take the time to create SMART goals. SMART goals stand for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Be sure that your dreams are given boundaries and a timeline that include SMART goals so you can see your dreams come to fruition. Keep in mind that your dreams can change over time, and this is normal.

Your vision board is a powerful tool when used appropriately and keeping your vision board visible throughout your day can keep you focused and motivated. Your vision board should bring about feelings of opportunity, passion, and inspiration. If an image or quote no longer serves a purpose, then remove it or replace it with another item. Your vision board should always be in alignment with what you want for your life. Keep in mind that some of your goals may need a timeline to help you move forward with action otherwise you may never fully reach that goal.

A Strategy Helps You Achieve Goals Faster

Rather than misusing time and struggling to reach your goals, it’s best to develop a strategy that will help you move quickly from one task to another.  Many of us set goals and have intentions of completing them - only to have them fall through mid-flight. This may be because enthusiasm for the project fails or you’ve come to a standstill for some other reason.  One strategy that will keep you moving from one goal to the next, is to be persistent. You have to refuse to give up  even when life becomes a bit difficult or you find yourself bored with the process. Do what it takes to keep yourself motivated and moving forward, by spending more time developing a strategy that will guarantee success. Mapping out a

Thinking Strategically

To think strategically means to see and to be able to understand the bigger picture of where you need to go. Then you need to take action to achieve the associated goals.  Strategic thinkers often ask themselves key questions like: Where am I now? Where do I want to be? How will I get there?  Strategic thinking is a powerful tool in leadership.  When applied it gives awareness and understanding needed for long-term success. Strategic thinking is also a powerful tool to use in your personal life for creating the path you want to take and build the life you want to live.  Strategic Thinking Is not only about decision making. It’s about spending time thinking, listening, and observing. It’s not about gut feelings alone. Strategic thinkers and leaders are methodical, driven by data to help them make informed decisions. They use observation of trends, asking the right questions and seeking context.  It is not instant gratification of short-term gains. Strategic thinkers plan and execute a s
